Several members of the Biblical Creation Society Earth Sciences group are involved in developing innovative explanations of the Earth's geology: initial global catastrophism followed by a recovery process involving a series of ecological successions. This radical new approach, "Recolonisation," builds on a foundation of Biblical revelation, which all of us in the BCS consider to be fundamental to any scholarly activity that claims to be concerned with truth. As in all forms of serious research, we follow analysis with hypothesis generation. In our view, there are data and relations in the geological and paleontological evidences that we feel no one has hitherto properly explained. The criterion for acceptance or rejection of a hypothesis concerning Earth history must lie either in the physical evidence or the Biblical text.
In March 2006, advocates of the Recolonisation approach to Earth history have faced the charge of compromising Scripture. This is charge that greatly disturbs us, as our fundamental principle is to base our thinking and scholarship on biblical foundations. The Committee of BCS has put together a statement which is here (this site) and here (BCS site). We encourage any who are concerned about these matters to read the statement.
The links below draw on existing web resources where they are available. Our aim is to add to the site as we have opportunity, so the numerous inactive links indicate where we are heading.
1. Introduction
This is the starting point for any who want to find out what are Recolonisation
Models of earth history. On this page, you will find links to biblical and scientific
material tht explain the concept of Recolonisation in a "broad-brush"
way.
2. Biblical Foundations
The Christian seeks to build his/her life on Jesus Christ and, as disciples,
we are consciously under discipline. This includes the discipline of ordering
our thinking to be instructed and informed by the Scriptures, God's written
Word. section 2 of our site looks at a variety of biblical themes, to show that
a foundation for thinking about Earth history is to be found in the Scriptures.
3. Geological evidences and Recolonisation
The Recolonisation models with which we are concerned in this site all
place an emphasis on the destructive power of the first 40 days of the Flood.
This was the judgment of God on a generation that had wholly given itself to
evil. The destruction was total, with all air-breathing creatures outside the
ark perishing. The initial violence of the Flood is marked in earth history,
not by fossils, but by mega-scale catastrophism affecting both igneous activity
and sedimentation. After the 40 days, the biblical Mabbul, there was the rest
of the Flood year and the restoration of the Earth to be a home for the creatures
in the Ark. This period, from day 40 onward to the time of Babel, is described
by us as "recolonisation of the Earth". In this section, essays and
resources are provided on the Mabbul and the different phases of recolonisation.
These are followed by some Frequently asked Questions (FAQs).
4. Geological science and new paradigms
As well as sproviding an overview of recolonisation thinking in the sections
above, our aim is to identify and explore the numerous areas where radical geological
thinking is long overdue. Some contributions are to be found elsewhere on the
Web, and all we have to do is provide links. Other contributions are only found
here and are written specifically to stimulate thought and to give pointers
to further research.
